Calgary’s best-kept secret. Ricardo’s Hideaway just off 17th ave.

I absolutely love it when unique restaurants get festive for the holidays! If I’m being completely honest, I had never heard of Ricardo’s Hideaway until they dressed up in a festive tiki bar! I knew this had to be one of our very first hangouts as the Cheesecake Dolls. We had a really great response right from the get-go even though it was SO close to Christmas already. Some gals came down right after work and we had a great time sipping out of Santa cups! The drinks were definitely one of the highlights due to their unique mix of tropical and Christmas flavours. I think the drink I had was a mixture of pineapple and gingerbread. Not something you would normally think to put together but, my gosh, it was delicious! If they weren’t $12 a drink I would have gotten so many more!

The whole experience was amazing from booking our reservation, service, and the decor! This is truly one of Calgary’s Best Kept Secrets for restaurants. I strongly recommend you go here for a date night or a girls night out. Their food is divine! I had lamb curry and I couldn’t get enough of it! I got to test a couple of the other dishes and they were equally as good. Crab cakes, na’an bread, cakes, and so much more. I’ll have to actually go back again and try some of their other dishes. Wink Wink Husband 😉

Anywho, enough about the food!! Though it is me, I could talk about food forever. Everyone came dressed in appropriate tiki attire because what pin-up doesn’t have some sort of tropical dress or garment to match their tiki rooms! I’m not kidding, I think most of the gals I know have a tiki space in their home! So again coming to Ricardo’s Hideaway was a no brainer. Sew Pin-up, of course, came in their custom dresses (honestly, go check out these gals to get your dresses made!) Everything was just on point! In fact, Sandy even brought in her umbrella! I was giggling a little bit because the restaurant itself is fairly small and what is that superstition about umbrellas being open indoors?

This was such a great success and I was so excited to see everyone come out all dressed up to launch the new Cheesecake Dolls brand forward. I can’t wait to plan the next tiki hangout 😉
